The purpose of the organization shall be to unite all of the men associated with St. Pius X in an organization that promotes the camaraderie of those men through spiritual, athletic, social, scholastic, or philanthropic endeavors.
Hi everyone,
This year is going to be a unique year for the St Pius X Men's Club membership. Financially, we will be starting off in about as bad a place as possible. We completed last year with our Crawfish Cookoff, Fishing Rodeo and Cool Zoo fundraisers all being cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. To start this new school year off, two of our biggest fundraisers of the year, City Park Night and the Haunted House/Hayride, were also cancelled along with Fall Sports. To date, we have had very low applications for membership as most of our events so far, including our first meeting, have been cancelled. I am writing this to urge you to please join the Men's Club this year, if at all possible. As always, we never turn anyone away so if there are any financial hardships, please do not feel pressured. The Board and I are just trying to make this one of our best years from a membership standpoint to hopefully make up for a lot of the lost revenue from event cancellations.
Through all of this, we still have expenses to pay including the Community Coffee for all of the teachers, the monthly Cox Cable bill, and the paper products for the Parish. Over the summer, we purchased a laptop and projector for Fr. Lawrence's parish in Africa along with a new camera and microphone for live mass streaming at our own church. We also purchased the outdoor basketball goals for the school, as well as hosted a Prosecco party for the teachers at the end of last school year. We have paid deposits for future events out into next year because we have to hold on to our dates.
